- Resum
- Catàleg de llibres impresos de veterinària i afins, majoritàriament anglesos, i tots a partir del segle XVI avançat.
This text is a catalogue of the Comben Collection. With some 900 printed books and pamphlets on farriery, animal husbandry and veterinary science, the collection comprehensively documents the early development of these fields. The rarest item is «Snape's Purging Pill for Horses», the only known copy of a 1692 catalogue offering animal remedies for sale, while the earliest is the Aldine «Libri de Re Rustica», published in Venice in 1514. The catalogue provides a full description of every item in the collection, including details of pagination and illustrations. Additional notes give information about the particular copies described, and point out significant textural and bibliographical features. The reference works which form a component of the collection are listed separately.
