- This paper presents a possible stemma codicum for a manuscript family of the Naturalis historia, which had a remarkably wide diffusion between Northern France and England during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. The material collected for this stemma and for reconstructing the particular form its lost archetype has been drawn from the analysis of various micro-textual phenomena and a systematic study of the chapter division characteristic of each book of Pliny's text in the family. The inquiry also considers the peculiar features of some members of the group, especially the thirteenth-century manuscript Città del Vaticano, BAV, Ottob. lat. 1302 + 1459, which has a large number of marginal notes of varied origin.
